COVID SAFETY GUIDELINES FOR IN-PERSON CLASSES

SAFETY GUIDELINES FOR IN-PERSON CLASSES

The health and well-being of our students, instructors and staff is a top priority. With the current and uncertain future of the COVID-19 Pandemic outbreak, it is imperative we follow very specific guidelines until the pandemic ends.

We follow the GA COVID Related Guidelines provided by Health Department.

For your safety,  Chesstronics will:

  • Maintain a commitment to keeping educational interruptions to a minimum and helping students stay on track to complete their programs of study.
  • Take steps to mitigate the risk of transmission, including thorough cleaning, and provide hand sanitizers, & cleaning materials.
  • Provide regular cleaning  of common areas such as water fountains and restrooms based on availability of resources.
  • Quickly respond to student concerns and/or questions as they may arise.
  • Adapt, adjust, or change procedures or policies to adhere to CDC, state, or federal policy/guidelines.

As a student, you must:

  • Not come to class sick or stay if you feel sick, regardless of symptoms. Keep your instructor informed of your situation.
  • Not come to class if you have been exposed to someone with COVID-19, or have traveled to an area with a high incidence of COVID-19. You will not be able to return to class until you have quarantined for a minimum of 14 days. Keep your instructor informed of your situation.
  • Contact your instructor immediately if, after attending a class, you find out you were exposed to someone with COVID-19. You will not be able to return to class until you have quarantined for a minimum of 14 days.
  • Not come to class if I am diagnosed with COVID-19. If I recently attended class, you must advise your instructor immediately of your diagnosis. Keep your instructor informed of your situation. You will not be able to return to class until (1) a doctor/health professional verifies you have fully recovered OR you are 14-days post-diagnosis and symptom-free and (2) contact the division office or Dean prior to returning.
  • Practice social/physical distancing and do not congregate before, during, or after class, or during breaks. Do not loiter or socialize on campus and leave campus when you are not engaged in active course-related activity.
  • Wear a protective face covering (mask) to all in-person classes. This will be required for class admission until further notice. Other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required by the college or by your instructor. Failure to wear a face covering and required PPE while on campus may result in being asked to leave as well as possible dismissal from class.
  • Be prepared if your in-person class is moved online. In the event of a new outbreak or change in state guidelines, it is possible your class may be moved online, fully or partially. If your class is moved online, you will need access to technology and internet with as little as 24 hours’ notice.
